I think the idea of mixing luxury and mass-market fashion is very modern, very now - no one wears.

OUR COMMITMENT

SWISS ALPS INSIDE reflects our mindset and our values. We rely on regional, sustainable and fairly produced ingredients and make an active contribution to the preservation of the unique Alpine habitat, with over 15,000 animal and 13,000 plant species and a diverse culture, for future generations. We are committed to various projects to promote the sustainable management of the Swiss Alps. So that intense hikes, where you can encounter ibex, chamois and marmots and cool off in a mountain lake, will remain among the most beautiful experiences offered by Switzerland.

IT IS #NOSECRET

Many brands make a secret of the ingredients used to make their products. We don’t. On the contrary. We talk often and openly about the ingredients of our fine chocolate. These are only the best, and whenever possible, they come from the Swiss Alps. In order to preserve the biodiversity of the Swiss mountains, we also pay attention to sustainable and environmentally friendly methods and materials when producing and packing our Alprose chocolate. In addition, we work together with organisations that are also concerned about the future of our Alps, such as the Swiss National Park.

FAIR AND SUSTAINABLE FOR MORE JOY

For cocoa, which of course cannot be grown in Switzerland, we also apply the highest standards of sustainability and fairness. We use Fairtrade cocoa, which not only guarantees better cocoa prices for farmers, but also provides them with a better life and helps them to protect the environment. We invest out of conviction in our raw materials, because we want everyone who contributes to our chocolate to enjoy it at least as much as you do.

OUR ENERGY IS AS GREEN AS THE ALPS IN SUMMER

We also pay attention to the environment during production. Since 2018, our production has been entirely CO2-neutral. This means that we always recover at least as much energy as we use to produce our chocolate specialities. We achieve this with 348 solar panels on the roofs of our storage and production facilities, a wooden chip heating system and LED lights that save 448,900 kg in CO2 emissions and 111,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year.

TOGETHER WE CAN ACHIEVE MORE

We carry the Alps in our hearts. This is why our commitment to the preservation of the natural beauty and culture of the Swiss mountain landscape does not stop with the production of our chocolate. We know that we can achieve more together, and therefore collaborate with organisations that also care about the future of the Alps. In cooperation with the Swiss National Park, we carry out projects and make an important contribution to the protection and preservation of the flora and fauna of the Swiss Alpine world. You can also participate by becoming part of ‘SWISS ALPS INSIDE’. Follow us on social media to stay informed about our projects and events.

OUR PACKAGING PROTECTS OUR CHOCOLATE AND NATURE

We take our responsibility towards the environment seriously on all levels: regarding raw materials, the energy chain and of course, our packaging. It’s important to us to never compromise on quality. All outer paper wrapping, cardboard sleeves and transport boxes of Alprose are made from paper that has a sustainable forest management certification. In this way, we support sustainable forest management that preserves the beauty of our forests and the habitat of the animals. To guarantee the best possible chocolate experience while minimizing the impact on the environment, we have also replaced the aluminium foil wrapping of our 100 g tablets with a paper-based alternative that keeps our chocolate fresh and is fully recyclable. Where we can’t use paper alternatives, such as for our dragées or napolitains, we use monostructured polypropylene plastic films which ensure that the packaging can be recycled after the last piece of Alprose chocolate has been eaten.

‘Do good and talk about it’: this is why our commitment is #nosecret and why our campaign explains how we sustainably use and protect the Alps. Because however majestic and perpetual the Alps may seem, they need our support. And there can hardly be a more enjoyable way of protecting the Alps than to enjoy our Alprose chocolate.
